Croatia is such a beautiful and diverse country that we would love to have hundreds of properties from Istria in the north to Dubrovnik in the south. However, after careful consideration we decided to focus on the Central Dalmatia region and in particular Split and it's surrounding islands Ciovo and Brac.

Split City

Split is the second largest city in Croatia but offers a stunning coastline that Zagreb (the capital) simply cannot. With almost 200,000 inhabitants, Split is a much larger city than Dubrovnik, Zadar, Pula etc. so you can visit Split at anytime of the year. As it is a larger city it is also better equipped to deal with the busy summer months when tourists from around the globe descend on Croatia.

In our opinion, all of the islands in the region are beautiful and worth visiting. Unfortunately we cannot offer accommodation on all of them but in Ciovo and Brac we are able to offer you accommodation on two of the best.

Ciovo Island

Ciovo is only a 10km drive from the airport and can be accessed by car via a bridge in Trogir. It is actually closer to Split International Airport than the city itself is. It is the only island that is connected to the mainland and its rich vegetation and beautiful coastline makes it a favourite among visitors. Split and Trogir are two of the regions most popular tourist destinations and are easily accessible from the island by both road and ferry.

Brac Island

The island of Brac is one of the largest islands in Dalmatia and is only a 50 minute ferry from Split. It is the island with the best transport connections to Split with a car ferry going roughly every 2 hours in the summer season (a little less throughout the year). Brac is famous for its white stone quarries that provided the white stone for the White House in Washington D.C among other famous buildings. We love Brac for the beautiful villages and towns that are dotted around the island and along the coast. This is probably why it is so popular with sailing enthusiasts.
